Behind Defined Edge Engraving

My name is Jonathan McGinnis, and I’m a senior at Chagrin Falls High School with a strong passion for entrepreneurship and craftsmanship. I started this laser engraving business to offer high-quality, custom products that bring value and meaning to customers. What began as a creative pursuit has turned into a hands-on opportunity to build real-world business skills, serve my community, and do work that reflects both excellence and purpose.

Through Defined Edge Engraving, I create personalized items like custom drinkware, wedding signs, coasters, business gifts, and more — all designed and engraved in-house with attention to detail and durability. Each project is a chance to turn someone’s idea into something real and memorable.

A core part of this mission is giving back. 10% of all proceeds are donated to Lifeline Children’s Services, a Christ-centered organization that cares for orphans, vulnerable children, and families in crisis. Their work includes international orphan care, domestic adoption support, and family preservation programs — all rooted in the belief that every child belongs in a loving, gospel-centered home. It’s a mission I deeply believe in, and it’s an honor to support it through this business.
